Ferragamo unveiled the first chapter of “Legends, Reimagined” project to pay tribute to the Italian craftsmanship and human achievement, honouring Salvatore Ferragamo’s pioneering spirit and passionate dedication as the “Shoemaker of Dreams.”
“Legends, Reimagined” is an ongoing series that celebrates the brand’s iconic designs alongside inspiring figures who exemplify excellence through their mastery and boundary-pushing vision. It delves into the essence of Ferragamo’s legacy, beginning with the Tramezza shoe: the finest expression of shoemaking, a process requiring over 160 handcrafted steps - a testament to the distinction of Made in Italy.
To launch the project, Ferragamo has partnered with Italian skiing legend Alberto Tomba, a charismatic athlete recognized as a true outsider in the skiing world. Coming from the hills of Bologna rather than the traditional mountain peaks, Tomba defied convention through raw instinct and a relentless pursuit of perfection.
Just as the Tramezza embodies Ferragamo’s shoemaking genius, so Tomba’s unique way of skiing - a blend of explosive power, technical prowess, and dynamic grace - set him apart as an emblem of Italian excellence on the world stage.
The quintessence of Ferragamo’s men’s footwear heritage, this style takes its name from the tramezza, the layer of leather inserted between the insole and outsole to ensure durability, flexibility, and comfort. Incorporating Salvatore Ferragamo’s patented steel shank for support, each pair is a masterpiece designed to last a lifetime - a hallmark of timeless refinement, born from tradition and perfected through innovation.
